COMPUTING - Computer-Based Database

In today's lesson, Year 5 have explored the benefits of using a computer based database over the paper based examples from last week. We interrogated the data from two different examples of database and thought about how they compared, as well as getting a good understanding of the controls available to us in the software. We answered questions using our databases and thought about how the records and fields were presented in the examples.

 Adam from the Isle of Wight library service came in to introduce the summer reading scheme to the children. The children will need to sign up for the scheme:gadgeteers. There are stickers, games and a gift each time you visit. Each child must read 6 books over the summer.  Once the children have visited three times they will be given a certificate and a medal. All the library asks is that the children write a review of one of the books they have read by 17th September.
