COMPUTING - Paper-based Database

In today's lesson Year 5 explored the use of paper based databases. We explored what a database was - including definitions of 'data' and 'information' - before making a database of our own about animals. We will use this next week to compare against a computer based database.

Isle of Wight Library Service

 Adam from the Isle of Wight library service came in to introduce the summer reading scheme to the children. The children will need to sign up for the scheme:gadgeteers. There are stickers, games and a gift each time you visit. Each child must read 6 books over the summer.  Once the children have visited three times they will be given a certificate and a medal. All the library asks is that the children write a review of one of the books they have read by 17th September.
