Maths - more measurement!

 This week the children were converting from grams to kilograms as well as units of time.

It was very interesting watching the children discuss whether to multiply or divide by a 1000. Some of the questions used weighting’s scales ( not digital) and this causes a lot of confusion as some children have never used them before. 










At the end of the week the children had fun converting how old they were into months. They were then given a challenge from Nrich to rearrange a shuffled calendar.

Isle of Wight Library Service

 Adam from the Isle of Wight library service came in to introduce the summer reading scheme to the children. The children will need to sign up for the scheme:gadgeteers. There are stickers, games and a gift each time you visit. Each child must read 6 books over the summer.  Once the children have visited three times they will be given a certificate and a medal. All the library asks is that the children write a review of one of the books they have read by 17th September.
