PE: Athletics

This week, the children in Year 5 started to make the most of the wonderful sunshine by continuing their Athletics unit of work. They started off getting used to the surface by doing a practise laps of the track on their own. We then moved onto different distances and discussed the importance of pacing and stamina when running. They also looked at each others techniques and discussed how they could improve, using arms to drive up and forward was our takeaway point.

Well done Year 5 who put in a tremendous amount of effort throughout their PE. Some of our pupils used their PE skills to great use to compete in the Cowes Cluster Athletic on Tuesday. Our Year 5 boys and girls even won their competition!
