Geography - Plastic Packaging

 Today the children found out how plastic is made. They then discussed how they and their families use plastics at home. Everybody in Year 5 had used plastic that day and not realised it! From there, issues such as recycling and the fact it takes nearly 1000 years for plastic to decompose were debated with some really great conversations. We then looked at the island of rubbish in Bali and how this could be dealt with, consequently, the children then recapped the order of how a plastic bottle is made to the end of its journey.
