Maths - Perimeter

 This week the children have been learning about Perimeter. We started the week recapping what is perimeter and why do we need to know it. How will it help us in life. From there the children looked at compound shapes and there perimeter. 



We then looked at how perimeter can be measured in any way as well as decimals. Similarly, they use scale diagrams to find the perimeter. Well done Year 5.

Isle of Wight Library Service

 Adam from the Isle of Wight library service came in to introduce the summer reading scheme to the children. The children will need to sign up for the scheme:gadgeteers. There are stickers, games and a gift each time you visit. Each child must read 6 books over the summer.  Once the children have visited three times they will be given a certificate and a medal. All the library asks is that the children write a review of one of the books they have read by 17th September.
