DT - Making bridges

 This week year 5 had a go at making their bridges using art straws, masking tape and paper. There were some great ideas about what would make strong structures. Each group even thought about the aesthetics of their bridges. We then tested them using some heavy weights.

Isle of Wight Library Service

 Adam from the Isle of Wight library service came in to introduce the summer reading scheme to the children. The children will need to sign up for the scheme:gadgeteers. There are stickers, games and a gift each time you visit. Each child must read 6 books over the summer.  Once the children have visited three times they will be given a certificate and a medal. All the library asks is that the children write a review of one of the books they have read by 17th September.
